I have no real dog in this fight about short ties and spikey hair. But let me just say that the matching Pepto-Bismol colored suits Ernie Haase and SSQ wore on Saturday made me … well, wish I had some Pepto-Bismol (and that’s not a compliment). EH&SSQ are in many ways a trainwreck of clashing signals: hip young dudes singing a lot of old classic numbers (have they got their eyes on McCray Dove’s “classic quartet” stylistic real estate?); trendy fashion gimmicks but matching suits. It’s like the Florida Boys got a makeover or something. Strange.
