Danny Jones is reporting that something like 27,000 people showed up New Year’s Day to hear the Inspirations, McKameys, the Primitive Quartet, and the Singing Cookes. Wow. Just goes to show you that one long refreshment break for one person could be 27,000* other people’s idea of a New Year’s Day celebration.*Correction: thanks to reader PT, who alerted me to the extra zero I somehow managed to see in Danny Jones’s blog entry where none exists. It was 2,700 (this is why I work with words and not numbers). Still a decent crowd, of course. Apologies.
