Happy anniversary to avfl (belatedly)
Some real-world obligations and changes have kept away from avfl for a while and may for a bit longer, but I thought it would be ok to note that avfl passed its second anniversary this month. This is probably a good time to thank you for your energetic and enthusiastic response to this site - whether you like it or not (the site that is, or the thanks, I guess, for that matter). I’m always surprised that traffic stays consistent and in some cases grows even when I can’t post as regularly as I’d like.
The other day, I found myself talking to a colleague about avfl and realized that without my really realizing it, the site has become rather meaningful to me for a range of reasons I never initially imagined or intended (and paging through the nearly 10,000 emails you’ve sent me in the last two years, I realize how many people I’ve “met” and heard and learned from). I hope that what goes on here and what continues to evolve will be similarly meaningful to readers in some way. And if nothing else, avflians can have comments flame wars now!

Avery,
Yes, it’s a drag when those real world concerns raise their ugly head. Hope you at least got to spend some good iPod time.
Congratulations on the anniversary - I always look forward to reading your posts.
thanks for closing the Crabb thread

I just realized how much this site means to me and how much I’ve missed regular updates. This genre needs you, Doug. How much you’ll never know.

A recent fan, I found you when researching a particular artist on Google. I tried subscribing thru Bloglines before but couldn’t. I just tried again and it worked! Which means I will know when the site is updated. And I have added you to my blogroll on my site.
Congratulations!
