It would be Un-realistic to expect someone to sit on a project this good till Christmas. Go ahead and buy them the CD, but do the "Christmas in July" thing and earn yourself some brownie points for the real Christmas.

1 + 1 does not always equal 3 (or 4)
in today's music-buying climate.

FACT 1:
Early summer music releases face an uphill battle because vacation season is traditionally slower for Christian bookstores.

FACT 2:
Gaither marketing dollars (TV ads) do help to ensure that CDs and DVDs like "Best of Janet" do not miss the attention of consumers.

FACT 3:
A non-Gaither release truly could be missed in the shuffle -- especially since most people would not naturally expect more than 1 project associated with Janet to be released during the same time period.

FACT 4:
"Sounds like Sunday" is Janet Paschal's first hymns CD, and it's a NEW studio project full of fresh arrangements and memorable moments.

Let's just hope that people catch the excitement and rush to the stores to buy early Christmas presents!

Looks like Ivan Parker has a "Best of" Gaither project being released this summer as well. With Ivan and Janet doing some concerts together this summer, perhaps both will get a boost from these releases. 1+1+1=4 (actually 3.14159 26535 89793 after Bill gets his slice of the pi) lol

Not only that, but the recently-shook-up Spring Hill just released a greatest hits compilation as well (as they did with Karen Peck & New River)....

Worry not about Janet. She gets a very healthy royalty from Gaither on her DVD. Most marketing types will tell you that the publicity from each project will help the other, sort of a 1 +1 = 3 kind of thing.
