Ok, blood-sports fans. While the carnage is being cleaned up from the Hoskins Family Cage Match, this might be a good time for a gentle reminder about some of the basics of internet discourse.
First, turn your caps lock off. Notice how many degrees cooler most of the temperatures got in this ridiculous flame war over a group that doesn’t even exist anymore after a certain former vocalist of said group STOPPED APPEARING TO BE YELLING AT EVERYONE WITH ALL CAPS. Your caps-lock should be reserved for those rare occasions when you really do need to raise your voice to make a point. And that, like using an exclamation point, ought to be pretty rare.
Second, discussion threads at avfl are moderated. That means, just for instance, that if you post a trash-talking, incendiary, gratuitously smackilicous comment about an artist you dislike, and then before I even have a chance to look at, much less approve or delete, the comment in the moderation cue, “someone else” posts a comment that says “you’re so right,” and refers directly to the catty post that hasn’t even been moderated yet, … well, it’s a good bet I’m going to DELETE BOTH POSTS! You (and your sockpuppets) know who you are.
Third, please stop it.
Fourth and finally: thanks.Email this Post
