I am pretty sure that Shane DUnlap and Garry Jones were on the first 3 CD’s made by Sig.SOund. Ernie may have changed the CD covers but I’m pretty sure this is the case. (I’ve seen them)
Imagine: a SG History without an entry about the Jordanaires!?!? I know resources are finite but how can they justify having the time to include the Old Time Gospel Hour Quartet but not the Jordanaires??
#1 - I’m the site’s Artwork Editor. The reason we are using the cover images we have is because those are the only cover images we have.
If you happen to have the originals and would be willing to scan high-resolution copies (1000×1000 pixels) and email them to me (at artwork@sghistory.com ), I would be happy to post both the original and the current covers.
Dawn, Buick and Robert,
The issue is time and resources. The site is put together by volunteers. If you have information to contribute on artists you’d like to see included, by all means, send it in.
Scope,
The book was based on the best sources I had available at the time. I know it isn’t perfect.
The biggest advantage the website holds over the book is the ability to correct and tweak the information over time until it becomes as definitive as possible. The website won’t ever be perfect either, but at least it isn’t frozen in time like the book.
Fortunately, there are enough writers involved in this website that I can’t accept blame for all of its errors.

If this website has as many factual and/or spelling errors as his “encyclopedia” (all 164 pages), he needs all the help he can get.

I don’t know the whole history of SSQ but Shane Dunlap was definitely on Stand By Me because I am looking at his picture on it right now.
